My real name… unimportant. You can call me Aera Cura.
Oh and I’m a ninja.
I am a female gamer residing in Seattle, Washington. I attend the University of Washington and at the moment I am working towards a bachelors degree in Sociology and Computer Sciences.
Most people think I’m completely nuts, but sometimes there’s some sense to what I’m trying to communicate.
I will play any video game once. From Barbie Magic Hair Styler to Ninja Gaiden 2, I will give it a try because you just never know. For the most part I am an RPG kind of girl, that trickles back to my days of Quest for Glory and Kings Quest when I was in grade school. I’ve been known to dabble in simulation games, FPS, RTS, and arcade games as well, but there is something about being able to customize the character or creature that I am playing as that really gets me hooked into a game.
I don’t want to play the girl card here, or anywhere else. Just because I am a girl gamer, I don’t really want to create a space that says that I am a girl gamer spokeswoman. I am just another person who really loves gaming and nerdy technology and decided that I have so many gaming conversations in my mind and with my friends that someone out there may be interested in what we’re saying.
As far as the future goes, I am excited to finish up my bachelors degrees, and then start in on a post grad situation in Computer science, most likely specializing in AI. I plan to really change the world… or completely fuck it up. Either way, it’s gonna be a fun ride. I may try get a job in the gaming industry if I can find a good fit for my skills and interests that won’t compromise my love of games.
